WASHINGTON – The US Dept. of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on March 2 that Toppenish, Washington-based Washington Beef LLC is recalling approximately 30,260 lbs. of ground beef chubs products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials. The facility is the beef-processing plant owned by Agri Beef Co., based in Boise, Idaho.

The problem was discovered by a consumer complaint to the company on Feb. 28, 2019. The ground beef chubs were produced on Dec. 27, 2018 and include a “Use of Freeze by” date of 1/20/19.

The ground beef chubs bear the establishment number “EST. 235” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
