LIVINGSTON, Calif. – Foster Farms Inc. named Dan Huber chief executive of the company effective Feb. 13. He succeeds Laura Flanagan who resigned to pursue other opportunities, according to the company.

Huber held sales and management positions at Oscar Mayer and Kraft Foods before joining Foster Farms. He also participated on several industry boards including the US Poultry and Egg Association, National Chicken Council and National Turkey Federation.

“Dan is uniquely qualified to lead Foster Farms,” said Terry Martin, chairman of the board. “He brings over 23 years of agribusiness, supply chain, food production, food safety, and branded sales management experience to this position. His depth of expertise and familiarity with Foster Farms’ business and community are strengths that will drive the company into the future. We thank Laura for her many contributions to Foster Farms and wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

Flanagan joined Foster Farms in August 2016 from ConAgra Foods where she served as president of the company’s snacks division. She succeeded Ron Foster, grandson of company founders Max and Verda Foster.

Huber holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Univ. of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

Last week, Foster Farms and Merced County, California announced a multi-million dollar capital investment project to upgrade and expand the poultry processing plant in Livingston, California.

There has also been speculation about Tyson Food buying Foster Farms for about $2 billion according to CNBC.
