BENTONVILLE, Ark. —Walmart Inc. plans to expand its online grocery delivery option by adding four new delivery companies: Point Pickup, Skipcart, AxleHire and Roadie. These new partnerships will deliver to metro areas across four states. Eight-hundred stores are already equipped for delivery with another 800 planning to be added by the end of 2019.

“Customers love our grocery delivery service. As they are busy managing jobs, soccer practice, dance lessons and social schedules, we are on a mission to do more than keep a little extra money in their pockets,” said Tom Ward, senior vice president of digital operations of Walmart US. “With the help of these new delivery partners, we’re making grocery shopping even easier by bringing the everyday low prices of Walmart right to the front door of customers.”

Walmart’s online grocery delivery service includes a $9.95 fee and a $30 minimum order, with no subscription or price markups. Customers may order fresh produce, meat, seafood and bakery items, pantry staples and more at walmart.com/grocery or through the Walmart Grocery app. Orders are picked by Walmart’s personal shoppers and then delivered.

Customers can get their first order delivered for free with promo code FRESHCAR with a $50 minimum order. Walmart currently offers grocery delivery in more than 100 metro areas and plans to expand it to 300 metro areas by the end of 2019.

In April 2018, Walmart partnered with Postmates during the first online grocery deliveries. The company also works with Deliv, DoorDash and others.

Walmart said its online grocery pickup is growing with 2,100 stores currently and 1,000 more to be added by the end of the year.
