Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah posted a video on Dec. 4 showing his affection for bacon after an article was posted by The Independent saying idioms like “bringing home the bacon” are outdated with the rise of veganism.
Sen. Hatch responded by posting a video on Twitter and taking a big bite out of bacon in his Senate office.

Earlier in the month, Hatch also tweeted out a picture of himself holding a piece of bacon.

Back in March, Hatch also celebrated his 84th birthday with “birthday bacon” in his office with staff members.
Growing up Senator Hatch’s family couldn’t afford to celebrate birthdays like the other kids in the neighborhood, so he has never enjoyed them.
