CHICAGO – McDonald’s Corp. is test marketing made-to-order chicken options at 160 locations in Washington state, according to a news release. The Ultimate Chicken Sandwich and Ultimate Chicken Tenders will be included in the test, using all-white chicken meat that’s lightly breaded and seasoned.

“Our focus on menu innovation is essential as we continue to evolve and build a better McDonald’s,” said Linda VanGosen, McDonald’s vice president of menu innovation. “Our made-to-order Ultimate Chicken Sandwich and Ultimate Chicken Tenders reflect McDonald’s commitment to respond to customers’ desires for more chicken offerings, higher quality, and distinct, delicious flavors.”

The chicken sandwich features a sweet Dijon sauce while the chicken tenders come in 4-,6- or 10-piece servings.

The Washington McDonald’s are also adding Sweet N’ Spicy Honey BBQ Glazed Chicken Tenders for a limited time. This item was previously available in select McDonald’s restaurants in August.

McDonald’s continues to experiment with new items on its menu. In March, the fast-food giant announced its rollout of fresh beef that is cooked when ordered in all its Quarter Pounder and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers. Since then, most  US restaurants have adopted that practice.

The breakfast menu is also getting a makeover for the first time since 2013. The Triple Breakfast Stacks feature two slices of American cheese between two sausage patties, topped with bacon and an egg and served on an English muffin, biscuit or McGriddles cakes. The item will be available beginning Nov. 1 through December.
