WASHINGTON – In a constituent update on Oct. 26, the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said it would begin to post individual establishment Salmonella performance standard category information for raw chicken parts and comminuted poultry products.

The agency stated it plans to start posting data on Nov. 23 and will issue a Federal Register notice describing how the agency is changing its categorization. The procedure will be based on one 52-week window and will exclude FSIS follow-up sampling results.

FSIS has already posted Salmonella performance standard category information for young chicken and turkey carcasses beginning Jan. 23, 2018.
