SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — In order to help settle part of a family dispute involving one of the world's largest beef-jerky companies, the South Dakota Supreme Court has been asked to weigh in, according to The Associated Press.

Jay Link, the son of Wisconsin-based Link Snacks Inc. founder Jack Link, thinks a judge undervalued his shares of South Dakota-based subsidiary LSI Inc. Jay Link's LSI shares are worth $16.55 million, a circuit judge previously determined. Jay Link's attorney asked the South Dakota Supreme Court on Nov. 16 to direct that his shares of LSI be purchased for $21 million.

The circuit judge mistakenly discounted the value of the company because LSI sells to only one customer, Link Snacks, the attorney argued.
