KANSAS CITY, Mo. —  Chicken and beef are the choices for the summer menu so far at many well-known restaurants around the country. Cracker Barrel is leading the way with its Campfire menu that features a southern flavor and a traditional favorite.

The Smoky Beef Brisket Breakfast is served over sweet pepper n’ red skin hash and topped with two eggs cooked to order, melted Colby cheese, crispy onions, smoky-sweet BBQ sour cream and parsley.


The Roasted Sweet Glazed Chicken features a half chicken roasted with southern sweet tea glaze and served with seasonal sides such as campfire baked beans and seasoned corn on the cob. The dish also comes with a sampling of coleslaw, buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins.

IHOP is bringing the beef this summer by launching a range of burgers featuring premium ground beef and a grilled brioche bun. The introduction follows a social media stunt by the breakfast brand hinting at a name change to “IHOb” – the International House of Burgers. 

Varieties include:e Big Brunch, featuring bacon, a fried egg, a crispy browned potato and American cheese; Cowboy BBQ, topped with two crispy onion rings, bacon, American cheese and barbecue sauce; Jalapeño Kick, with a blend of sautéed jalapeños, Serrano peppers and onion, plus bacon, pepper jack cheese and a jalapeño mayonnaise; and Mushroom & Swiss, including sautéed mushrooms and onions, Swiss cheese and mayonnaise. Customers may also order The Classic, which has American cheese and a new Steakburger sauce; The Classic with Bacon; or Mega Monster, which has two patties and American and white cheddar cheeses.

Finally, Arby’s offers the Bacon Beef ‘N Cheddar which features sliced roast beef with pepper bacon, cheddar cheese sauce and red ranch sauce served on a toasted onion roll.
