SALISBURY, Md. – Brenda Galgano was named the chief financial officer of Perdue Farms effective June 11. Galgano will oversee all financial aspect of the company, including financial planning and analysis, accounting and financial reporting, managing tax, internal audit, treasury, risk management and information technology.

“Perdue has been an industry leader for nearly a century, meeting and responding to evolving food trends and consumer demands,” Galgano said. “With a history of firsts and humble beginnings, Perdue is second to none in animal welfare and quality and I’m proud to join an organization focused on enhancing the lives of everyone through its people, products and the planet.”

Galgano recently worked as executive vice president and CFO of The Vitamin Shoppe. Before that, Galgano was senior vice president, CFO and treasurer of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P), where she led finance functions as well as information technology. She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Galgano holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting and graduated magna cum laude from Bryant Univ.
