GREELEY, Colo – Craigavon, Northern Ireland-based Moy Park announced it has reached a record-high processing volume of 6 million birds per week. As one of the UK’s largest poultry producers, Moy Park increased its production by 20 percent since 2015 and now supplies 30 percent of the total UK poultry market. The company was acquired by Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. in 2017 for $1.3 billion. This is the first time Moy Park has produced 6 million birds per week in 75 years of business.

Moy Park contracts with more than 800 farming partners across the UK to supply 12 processing facilities in Northern Ireland, England, France and Holland.

“Reaching 6 million birds per week is a huge achievement for Moy Park. This growth is testament to our commitment to agricultural and operational excellence and will ensure Moy Park is well equipped to meet demand for locally sourced, high quality poultry products,” said David Gibson, Moy Park director of agriculture. “A key driver of Moy Park’s success is the continued dedication and support of our teams and farmers, and we thank them for their hard work in reaching this milestone.”

Moy Park continues to grow by reinvesting in its operations. It recently completed construction of a new hatchery in Newark, England, the first of its kind in Europe, according to the company. It hatches 2.5 million chicks per week.

“By continuing to invest in our industry-leading agricultural base and state-of-the-art processing facilities, along with customer focused innovation, this latest announcement creates a solid platform for future growth. Demand for our products remains strong across all our regions and the business is well placed to expand on its position as a leading European food company,” Gibson added.
