REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — The Impossible Burger added Houlihan’s Restaurant + Bar to its list of restaurants serving the plant-based burger, effective May 29. The burger, made by Impossible Foods, will be available at Houlihan’s 68 restaurants nationwide.

The Impossible Burger at Houlihan's will feature cheddar cheese, special sauce, lettuce, and tomato on a brioche bun. The burger will be priced at $11.50 and served with french fries.

"Since 1972, Houlihan's has been tracking the most significant shifts in American eating and dining habits – from seasonal menus to leveraging trends our guests enjoy. That's why we wanted to be the first full-service concept to feature the Impossible Burger at outlets nationwide," said Michael Archer, CEO of Houlihan’s Restaurants Inc. "Houlihan's customers are asking for the Impossible Burger by name, and we're happy to give them exactly what they want."

The Impossible Burger, which was developed in 2011, is the first burger made entirely from plants that looks, smells and tastes like ground beef, according to the company.

The company’s goal is to replace animals as a “food technology” by 2035 and the vision includes feeding the world’s burgeoning population in a more affordable and environmentally feasible manner than the current livestock-based system.
