HOUSTON — Jim Beam Chopped Barbecue Brisket, which is fully cooked and ready-to-serve, is now being offered to foodservice operators by Windsor Foods Inc. and Jim Beam Bourbon.

This new product is the second one co-developed by Windsor Foods and the manufacturers of Jim Beam bourbon. In 2008, Windsor Foods and Jim Beam, successfully co-branded and launched Whitey’s Jim Beam Bourbon Steak Chili.

"We are excited about teaming up with Jim Beam again to bring another original recipe gourmet product to the marketplace," said Lorena Cantu, Asian and chili/BBQ product manager, Windsor Foods. "Jim Beam Chopped Barbecue Brisket is a very special product crafted with tender, smoked briskets that are chopped — not shredded — to impart a chunky texture. Then we smother it in a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce flavored with Jim Beam Bourbon."

Jim Beam Chopped Barbecue Brisket is designed for menu applications ranging from sandwiches to center-of-the-plate, she said. Operators can serve the gourmet chopped brisket from its 5-lb. tub or add their own fresh ingredients to make it a signature menu item.

"Jim Beam produces the world’s finest bourbon whiskey, and Windsor is famous in the foodservice industry for its delicious, frozen, heat-and-serve barbecue," said Kelly Doss, senior director, Bourbon and Whiskeys, Beam Global Spirits & Wine. "With these two category-leading brands, Windsor has developed a gourmet barbecue that’s easy for operators to prepare and market."
