Scott Walker has been endorsed by the Wisconsin Pork Association Board of Directors in his race to become Wisconsin’s next governor. Walker is the Milwaukee County executive and former state representative.

The WPA Board offered both Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett an opportunity to respond to questions related to Wisconsin agriculture before making their endorsement.

“I’m honored to have the support of the Wisconsin Pork Association,” Walker said. “As governor, I’ll work to ensure the hard-working livestock farmers, business owners and families that represent the pork industry are able to stay and grow their farms and businesses in Wisconsin.”

“We are pleased to give our endorsement to Scott Walker,” said Howard Roth, president of the Wisconsin Pork Association. “We were pleased with both candidates’ responses, but we believe that Walker is poised to lead Wisconsin in a forward direction, focusing on jobs creation and lowering taxes.”

Wisconsin’s pork industry supports more than 14,000 jobs at the farm and in the related-industries areas.
