GALESBURG, Ill. – Thrushwood Farms Quality Meats, based in Galesburg, Illinois, announced on April 26 that it is adding 30,000 sq. ft. of production and warehouse space to its current 27,400-sq.-ft. facility.

Offices, meeting space, production capacity and warehouse storage will all be part of the addition.

“The expansion will provide the needed resources to develop innovative shelf stable meat snacks for their brand and their private label customers,” the company said in a statement.

Thrushwood Farms last expanded in 2013 and has since grown in its meat snack and jerky business.

The family-owned business is led by the second generation of the Hankes family. Doug and his brother Jeff are transitioning the company in a new direction, focusing on jerky products and meat snacks. Founded by their father Jim and their two uncles, the company began as an integrated, farm-to-table concept.
