WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Bibie Wu has been named chief marketing officer of Del Monte Foods. In her new role, Wu will be responsible for all marketing, innovation and R&D for the company.

Wu joins Del Monte from Henkel, where she was most recently vice president of marketing and head of laundry conditioners and home care. Prior to her time at Henkel, Wu was business director of bakery for the Campbell Soup Co.’s Pepperidge Farm business. Before that, she spent 10 years with General Mills in a variety of roles, including marketing director of the Walmart and Sam’s Club sales region and marketing manager for brands such as Yoplait yogurt, Progresso soup, Old El Paso and Hamburger Helper.

“Bibie’s wealth of knowledge will bring a fresh perspective in helping us unlock growth for our great brands,” said Greg Longstreet, CEO of Del Monte Foods. “By organizing R&D under her direction along with marketing and innovation, we will create improved synergies in bringing our products to market.”

Wu’s appointment will support Del Monte’s four-point growth strategy, Longstreet said, which includes building relevance through product differentiation, driving innovation to address shifting consumer habits, optimizing the supply chain for efficiency and agility, and expanding distribution into key growth areas such as perimeter of store and food service.

“There’s been a fundamental shift in how people purchase, prepare and enjoy their food, and the pace of change will only intensify,” Longstreet said. “Success will require great execution against each of our four growth strategy areas. Bringing talented people like Bibie on board will help us in reaching our goals.”
