KANSAS CITY — Fiery flavors are heating up menus as restaurant operators serve up spicy new offerings.

Spiced honey butter adds a kick to Starbucks' new Chicken Sausage & Bacon Biscuit. The sandwich features chicken sausage, double-smoked bacon, country-style gravy and spiced honey butter on a cornmeal biscuit.

Frank’s Red Hot lends its heat to Dairy Queen’s new Honey Hot Glazed Chicken Strip Basket. The meal contains 100 percent white meat tenderloin chicken strips tossed in a honey hot glaze made with Frank’s Red Hot.

Jalapenos and hot sauce provide the piquancy in Moe’s Southwest Grill’s new queso. The Chili Con Queso features ground beef, jalapenos and pico, while the Spicy Queso features pork carnitas, Hard Rock ‘N’ Roll hot sauce and jalapenos.

Ancho chilis and roasted peppers bestow the burn in California Pizza Kitchen’s new pie. The Citrus Adobo Pizza features slow-cooked pork carnitas tossed in ancho chili adobo sauce, sweet white corn, roasted peppers, quesadilla and Monterey Jack cheeses, cilantro and lime served with a side of spicy chili de arbol salsa.
