DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – Food-processing equipment company, Duravant LLC, announced on Jan. 3 the acquisition of Ohlson Packaging to its growing portfolio. Ohlson, based in Taunton, Massachusetts, specializes in the manufacturing of weighing, counting and filling technologies, allowing Duravant to expand its service offerings and its ability to integrate more solutions with processors’ current and future operations. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ohlson’s expertise in developing net weighing and counting machines dates back approximately 51 years. The company has established a solid track record with companies in the meat and poultry processing industry as well as other food companies. Its customers include Frito-Lay, Hershey’s, Kraft Foods, Tyson Foods Inc. and Maple Leaf Foods. The acquisition allows Duravant to continue serving its customers not only in the manufacturing of frozen foods and snack foods, but also in industries that include hardware, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and electrical components.
