MILFORD, Conn. – As part of its commitment to improve its food and operations in an environmentally friendly manner, Subway restaurants announced John Scott has joined its global team and has been appointed Vice President of Global Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Scott’s role will include oversight of the company’s global plan to implement an integrated sustainability and CSR program throughout the Subway system.

“Social responsibility and sustainability are embedded in who we are as a brand,” said Joe Tripodi, chief marketing officer. “John shares our deep commitment to have a positive impact on the communities our franchisees and restaurants serve worldwide,” he said.

Scott’s background includes working in sustainability for more than two decades in roles focused on consumer supply chains. Most recently he worked as Chief Supply Chain Officer with The Chef’s Warehouse and prior to that he led PepsiCo’s sustainable sourcing program.

“He has the extensive experience and strategic thinking to ensure Subway continues to operate as a socially and environmentally responsible company,” said Tripodi. “John will help our brand expand our sustainability commitments and lead us as we explore new ways to enhance our business practices responsibly.”
