Le Burger
The week-long burger festival has expanded internationally.

MONTREAL – During the week of Sept. 1 – 7 almost 400 restaurants in Canada, and for the first time the US and Haiti, will serve thousands of burger lovers a signature creation in a quest to discover the best. Canadian cities include Montreal, Quebec City, Cornwall, Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon and Vancouver with Buffalo, Cleveland and Omaha representing the US.

Each participating restaurant is called upon to create a unique burger, reflective of their overall concept and cuisine. These participating restaurants then offer a special “burger price,” where burger aficionados are encouraged to come eat and cast a vote for their favorite at www.leburgerweek.com. Winners will be announced in the categories of “Voted Best” (referring to those with the most votes), the “Judge’s Choice,” the “Most Outrageous” and the “Healthiest Burger.”

Another addition to Le Burger Week this year is the partnership with food delivery services in the “Skip the Dishes and Just Eat” program, allowing participants to experience the festival in the comfort of their own homes. This will also be the second year of teaming up with Budweiser to present “Bud and Burgers.” Different restaurants across Canada will offer their participating burger and a Budweiser for a special price.

Le Burger week was created in 2012 by Canadian, burger loving entrepreneurs Na’eem Adam and Thierry Rassam. The two soon realized the economic opportunities for local businesses derived from the festival; most notably providing restaurants with the chance to build greater public awareness through their participation.

“Every year, we aim to bring Le Burger Week to a new level,” Rassam said. “Which is why we are very proud to be undertaking one of the biggest burger festivals in the world — Le Burger Week, across Canada!”

Starting Sept. 1 at midnight, more information regarding Le Burger Week can be found at www.leburgerweek.com.
