Fair Oaks Farms recalled about 1,134 lbs. of held product that was inadvertently shipped from a distribution center.

WASHINGTON – Approximately 1,134 lbs. of fully cooked pork sausage patties produced by Fair Oaks Farms, based in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, was recalled by the company on Aug. 22, due to the possibility of the product being adulterated byListeria monocytogenes, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The patties were produced by the company on Aug. 8 and included 2-lb. plastic sleeve packages labeled: “BREAKFAST Best FULLY COOKED ORIGINAL PORK SAUSAGE PATTIES,” with a sell-by date of 05/15/2018.

The products were shipped to retail customers and distribution facilities in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin and are labeled with “EST. 17479T” above the sell by date. Routine testing resulted in the positive results and while the products were on hold at a distribution center, they were mistakenly shipped, according to the FSIS. No reports of illness or adverse reactions have been reported as the result of consuming the products, but there are concerns that some packages may be in consumers’ freezers.
