OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Cargill was named the exclusive producer of Simply Essentials brand premium Black Angus beef products. Simply Essentials is a protein company that offers beef and chicken meat “with measurable increases in Omega-3 fatty acid levels and decreases in cholesterol levels.”

The line includes a variety of roasts, steaks and ground beef products that are available at select locations nationwide. The meat is sourced from cattle that are fed a proprietary diet that includes flaxseed. Cargill states that the unique feed provides “measurable increases” in Omega-3 fatty acid levels and decreases in cholesterol levels in the beef.

The production arrangement combines Cargill’s experience in protein production with new technology, research and innovation provided by Overland Park, Kansas-based Simply Essentials.
