KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Restaurants are inviting customers to travel with their taste buds with new menu items featuring global flavors.

Offering a sampling of Cajun cuisine, Bojangles’ is launching the new Sweet Cayenne Cajun Filet Sandwich. Served on a toasted, buttered bun, the hot handheld features a Cajun chicken filet, a slice of jalapeno American cheese, two strips of crispy hardwood-smoked bacon and a creamy Cajun sauce with undertones of cayenne, chili and a dash of sweetness.

TacoTime is touting the taste of the tropics with its new Island Pork Burrito, featuring pork carnitas, seasoned rice, spicy pepper jack cheese, shredded cabbage, green onion, pineapple jalapeno pico de gallo, sour cream and a honey sriracha aioli sauce wrapped in a home-style tortilla and grilled.

Canadian flavors are the stars of Tim Hortons’ new menu items. The Maple Bacon Iced Capp is a blended maple-flavored frozen coffee topped with whipped cream, maple flakes and bacon bits, and the Poutine Donut is a honey-dipped donut topped with potato wedges, gravy and cheese curds.
