The pizza chain's franchise partner will open 45 units in Chile; 40 units in Spain.
 
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Papa John’s International Inc. has announced plans to continue its global expansion with plans to open additional restaurants in Chile and Spain. The pizza chain has signed expansion agreements with franchisee Drake QSR AG.

The franchise partner has plans to add 45 restaurant units in Chile and 40 units in Spain.

“Drake is an outstanding franchise partner,” said Tim O’Hern, senior vice president and chief development officer. “They continue to focus on delivering on quality which has resulted in a continued expansion in both Chile and Spain. We remain enthusiastic about Papa John’s growth opportunities in both countries.”

Drake, through PJ Chile SpA, currently operates 55 restaurants in Chile. In Spain, the franchisee through PJI España Pizzerías S.L. (PJ España), has also signed an expansion agreement to expand outside of Madrid to all areas of Spain.

Papa John’s International has more than 1,650 international restaurants, including over 400 restaurants in 16 Latin American countries.
