BOULDER, Colo. – Just over two months after Conagra Brands announced plans to acquire Thanasi Foods LLC, which manufactures and markets the Duke’s brand of meat products, the premium smoked sausage and meat snack company announced the launch of its Cajun Style Andouille Smoked Shorty Sausages. The new product will be featured at the National Confectioners Association’s Sweets and Snacks Expo, held May 23-25 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

Formulated with Cajun spices and flavored with real hickory smoke, the new product is made from meat that is free of added hormones, nitrates or monosodium glutamate and each serving contains seven grams of protein. Duke’s line of Shorty sausage products includes seven varieties and is available in 4 oz. and 5 oz. packages as well as portable, single-serve packs. Flavors include Original, Hot & Spicy, Hatch Green Chile, Chorizo & Lime, Hickory Peach BBQ, Tomato Basil and Cajun Style Andouille. They are available at retail channels including convenience stores, supermarkets, club stores and drug stores.

“Our Smoked Shorty Sausages deliver on the growing consumer demand for high-protein, low-sugar, premium snacks,” said Justin Havlick, Duke’s president and founder. “In addition to high-quality ingredients, we’re delivering on taste, flavor and convenience.”
