Through a franchise agreement with Aramark, the premium burger chain opens its first college location.

NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. – BurgerFi has announced a franchise agreement with Philadelphia-based dining services company Aramark to open the burger chain’s first college campus location at Temple Univ. in Philadelphia. The newly renovated Howard Gittis Student Center food court will house the BurgerFi eatery.

The Aramark agreement demonstrates BurgerFi’s growing strength in the national market. The restaurant at Temple will be its second Philadelphia location and is expected to open for business in August of this year.

"Developing this new location with Aramark brings immense value to our expanding franchise network, and we are excited to see BurgerFi at a college campus such as Temple," said Corey Winograd, CEO of BurgerFi. "We value this relationship with Aramark, a world leader in bringing innovative restaurant brands to large-scale venues."

Last month, BurgerFi announced its first non-traditional site agreement with HMSHost, another foodservice industry player. HMSHost will operate a new BurgerFi restaurant at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport.

BurgerFi has plans to target Virginia, Washington DC, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and New York for 20 new restaurants this year, primarily through franchise development.
