Hynek Schlachthof is a family owned slaughtering operation in Tauberbischosheim.
Previously owned by Michael Hynek, the company has a reputation for working closely with cattle producers in its region, southeast of Frankfurt. Hynek will maintain a management role with the business, according to a statement. OSI Europe Foodworks Managing Director, Erik Schöttl said one benefit of the acquisition is expanding the company’s access to raw material in Germany.
“Additionally, there are further benefits due to the close proximity of the farms to the slaughter operation, as well as through options for operational differentiation and targeted growth,” Schöttl said. “We are looking forward to our cooperation with Mr. Hynek and his team.”
