Rough numbers show more than 31,000 industry professionals attended the 3-day show.

ATLANTA, Ga. – While the final numbers are not yet in, organizers of the 2017 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) are ready to call this year’s show a success. The annual tradeshow, sponsored by the US Poultry & Egg Association, American Feed Industry Association and North American Meat Institute, is the world’s largest annual feed, meat and poultry industry event. More than 31,000 poultry, meat and feed industry attendees from around the globe are attending this year’s show, from Jan. 31-Feb. 2 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The tradeshow features more than 533,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space and 1,275 exhibitors.

“This year’s tremendous exhibit floor and attendee and exhibitor numbers are a compliment to IPPE’s unmatched education programs, ample networking opportunities and diverse exhibits. The excitement and energy displayed by this year’s attendees and exhibitors will continue to safeguard the success and growth of future IPPEs,” the three organizations said.

All phases of the feed, meat and poultry industry, from live production and processing to further processing and packaging are represented on the tradeshow floor. In addition to three days of exhibition, a number of education programs have been held during IPPE. This year’s educational line-up featured 25 programs, ranging from a conference on Listeria Monocytogenes prevention and control, a program on FSMA hazard analysis training, a discussion about Family Businesses Strategies for Success, to a program on whole genome sequencing and food safety implications.

Other events open to attendees included International Poultry Scientific Forum, Beef 101 and Pork 101 workshops, Pet Food Conference, on-floor TECHTalks program and Event Zone entertainment activities including a chili cook-off and hot wings eating competition.
