Net poults placed were up 3 percent in November.
 
WASHINGTON – Turkey eggs in incubators on Dec. 1 were up 7 percent, the US Dept. of Agriculture said in its Turkey Hatchery report. Eggs in incubators totaled 27.4 million compared to a year ago, but declined slightly from the Nov. 1 total of 27.5 million eggs.

For November, poults hatched totaled 23.0 million, a gain of 10 percent from November 2015, USDA reported.  Poults hatched in November declined 3 percent from the October total of 23.7 million poults.

Net poults placed during November were up 3 percent to 21.5 million compared to a year ago. Net placements for the month also were up slightly from the October total of 21.5 million, USDA said.
