In his new role, Tim Zimmer will lead Smithfield's brand strategy for Smithfield, Eckrich, Nathan's Famous and other portfolio portfolio brands. 
 

SMITHFIELD, Va. – Smithfield Foods Inc. announced the promotion of Tim Zimmer to chief marketing officer. Zimmer will lead Smithfield's brand strategy for the company’s 18-plus brands comprising its portfolio and his responsibility will include domestic marketing of the company’s Packaged Meats segment across all of the company’s channels. 

He assumes the position after joining the company in 2011, working first at the vice president of sales and development and more recently as senior vice president of retail and foodservice sales. He previously worked in marketing roles with Nestlé, Kraft Foods and Sara Lee Corporation.
