Lidia Bastianich
HITN-TV adapted “La Italia de Lidia” (Lidia in Italy) and “La Italia de Lidia en América” (Lidia's Italy in America) for the network's Spanish-speaking audience.

NEW YORK – HITN-TV recently became the first Spanish-language network to broadcast the cooking shows of Lidia Bastianich, who is known for her PBS cooking shows such as “Lidia’s Kitchen” and her many cookbooks, the most recent being Lidia’s Mastering the Art of Italian Cuisine.

HITN-TV adapted two cooking shows for its programming lineup — “La Italia de Lidia” (Lidia in Italy) and “La Italia de Lidia en América” (Lidia's Italy in America).

“We are proud to introduce our viewers to Lidia Bastianich,” Eric Turpin, HITN-TV general manager, said in a statement. “Mrs. Bastianich is one of the most cherished chefs on television, a best-selling cookbook author and a renowned restaurateur. Yet despite her very demanding schedule, Mrs. Bastianich still manages to prioritize her Italian family and culture. And we believe these valuable qualities — the love for her children and the pride she has for her heritage — are traits that will resonate with our Hispanic audience.”

“La Italia de Lidia” and “La Italia de Lidia en América” will air on Saturdays. HITN-TV broadcasts shows to more than 40 million homes in the United States and Puerto Rico.
