AUSTIN, Minn. – To boost awareness of its Black Label bacon brand, Hormel partnered with musician, actor and comedian Reggie Watts for a musical advertisement  called: The Reggie Watts Bacon Experience.

Watts uses the sounds of bacon to create music including tongs hitting the pan, scrapping grease and the sizzle of bacon.

“Like Hormel Black Label bacon, Reggie Watts is always one step ahead of the industry, reimagining music, comedy and performance art to create his own unique brand of entertainment, which makes him the perfect partner to help us push bacon forward,” said Steve Venenga, vice president of marketing at Hormel Foods.

Watts raised his profile recently as the house band leader for The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Hormel Black Label bacon is also pushing bacon’s boundaries by funding innovators who create bacon-centric projects on Kickstarter. Participants will have to post their bacon idea on Kickstarter and then share their project with Hormel Black Label on Twitter or Facebook.
