WASHINGTON – Commerce City Colorado-based Speedy Foods LLC, is recalling 920 lbs. of chicken spring rolls due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, reports the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The products contain eggs, a known allergen that was not declared on the product label.

FSIS inspection personnel discovered the problem during routine label verification activities. Adverse reactions due to consumption of these products have not yet been reported.                                

The southwest chicken spring rolls were produced on March 10, 2016, and Aug. 8, 2016. The following products are subject to recall:    

• 75-oz. BROWN BOX packages containing 180 pieces of “WHOLE FRESH FOODS SOUTHWEST CHICKEN SPRING ROLLS” with a package code of 3-10-16 and a case code of 16151 on the upper right hand side of the case.

• 75-oz. BROWN BOX packages containing 180 pieces of “WHOLE FRESH FOODS SOUTHWEST CHICKEN SPRING ROLLS” with a package code of 08-08-2016 and a case code of 16151 on the upper right hand side of the case.

The affected products bear establishment number “EST. P-7195” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distributors in Colorado and Oklahoma.
