SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – McDonald’s Canada launched the Create Your Taste customizable menu, self-order kiosks and table service in 24 participating locations in the province of Saskatchewan.

Diners at these locations can use the kiosks to choose from two types of buns or a lettuce wrap, five types of cheese, 12 toppings, including guacamole, caramelized onions and hickory-smoked bacon strips, and nine sauces. Or, a Guest Experience Leader will seat and provide table service to customers.

“Guests are truly at the heart of our business,” Shelly Hansen, western regional vice president, McDonald’s Canada, said in a news release. “The evolving taste buds of our guests and desire for customization are at the core of our brand transformation. With a choice of both classic and new ingredients, guests can personalize their burger for a new flavor combination every time they visit.”

McDonald’s Canada also is offering new McCafé Bakery items, including French croissants and Mini Chocolatines filled with chocolate.

Franchisees expect to invest between C$200,000 and C$250,000 to hire about 10 to 15 new employees in each of the participating restaurants and to implement the kiosk technology and new processes, according to McDonald’s Canada.
