AURORA, Ill. – OSI Group released its 2016-17 Global Sustainability Report, which outlines the company’s performance through its worldwide operations.

The report lays out OSI’s priority areas of progress related to the environment, social responsibility and sustainable supply chain. The focus of the latter is on food quality and safety as well as the company’s animal welfare standards.

Some of the main points and timelines addressed in the report include:

• All OSI Food Solutions facilities in Europe have achieved ISO 14001 certification, one of the world's most authoritative standards for environmental management.

• In 2015, OSI North America donated more than 252,000 lbs. (114 metric tons) of food from its facilities to Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks; in the Philippines that year, GenOSI donated more than 55,000 lbs. (25 metric tons) of food to help feed homeless children in that country.

• OSI has sponsored multiple animal welfare initiatives, workshops and training sessions in support of its commitment to promoting continuous improvement and raise awareness of this key issue across the global organization and supplier networks.
