Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all-time, is joining the Team Krave for the Olympics.

SONOMA, Calif. – Artisanal jerky company, Krave Pure Foods Inc., has announced its exclusive partnership with Olympic gold medalists Michael Phelps and Carli Lloyd for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In addition to Phelps and Lloyd, team KRAVE athletes include the NFL’s Vernon Davis, personal trainer and fitness guru Jillian Michaels and Boston Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi.

The Hershey Company, which acquired Krave last year, in an official sponsorship deal with the US Olympic Committee, will give guests in the Athlete Village access to Krave’s artisanal jerky.

"This will be my final Olympic Games and closing opportunity to represent my country and do my best to bring home gold one more time," Phelps said in a statement. "While it is my last year on Team USA, it is my first year with Team Krave, a company whose products have become a staple in my daily routine. I'm elated to be part of their 'Krave Better' campaign and look forward to working together on the Road to Rio."

Carli Lloyd, the star of the United States Women's National Soccer Team, is gearing up for the Olympics with Krave.

"Welcoming Michael and Carli to Team Krave has been an exhilarating experience and an amazing way to celebrate National Jerky Day. Both Olympians have catapulted to success and redefined the boundaries of athletes, similar to Krave's rapid revolution of the jerky category," added Krave head of marketing, Rusti Porter. "Our support of Team USA with Michael and Carli by our side is just one more way that Krave is expanding into the lives of health conscious consumers looking for better-for-you and great tasting snack options."

Krave’s advertising efforts in conjunction with the new partnerships and its “Krave Better” campaign will include Team USA themed point of sale displays, video content, and print and digital advertisements. Krave expects Phelps’ and Lloyd’s past and future athletic accomplishments to showcase the “Krave Better” campaign’s idea of accepting no compromises and perseverance.
