Don Bacon
(Ret.) Brig. Gen. Don Bacon
OMAHA, Neb. – Bacon might not be the favorite food for Democrats this week.

After a sizable Republican primary win in Nebraska this week by candidate Don Bacon, the national Republican organization sent a gift basket of bacon to their counterparts across the ideological aisle.

“Clearly the DCCC needs a little pick-me-up after spending more than $430,000 ham-handedly meddling in the GOP primary, only to see the candidate they feared most, (retired) Brig. Gen. Don Bacon, emerge virtually unscathed,” the National Republican Congressional Committee said in a press release. “In fact, the DCCC's ads appeared to do very little, as Bacon fried the competition with 66 percent of the vote.”

Bacon will run against sitting Congressman Brad Ashford for Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district.
