SEAFORD, Del. – Allen Harim promoted Joe Moran to CEO of the company. He succeeds Steven Evans, who is leaving Allen Harim for the role of president of Perdue Foods LLC.

Moran brings to the job more than 30 years of experience in the poultry industry. As CEO, he will oversee growout, production, sales and marketing, finance, human resources and other aspects of the company’s operations. Moran joined Allen Harim in 2015 as executive director of operations.

“During his first six months with Allen Harim, Mr. Moran has been responsible for efficiently and effectively managing both our growout and production operations while spearheading major upgrades at our Harbeson, Delaware, facility,” Hong-Kuk Kim, chairman of Harim Group, said in a statement.  “His leadership, experience and innovative approach have helped position Allen Harim for growth, and his commitment to the welfare of our workforce is unmatched.”

Before joining Allen Harim, Moran was chief operations officer at Mountaire Farms in Millsboro, Delaware. He holds a bachelor’s in business administration from James Madison Univ., Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Steve Evans is returning to Perdue after more than two years as CEO of Allen Harim. Randy Day, COO of Perdue Farms, said the company is exciting to have Evans back in the fold. Evans rejoins Perdue Foods on May 31.

Evans joined Perdue in 1985 and held numerous sales and marketing roles of increasing responsibility, the company said. In 2009, he was promoted to vice president of marketing, vice president of sales and marketing and senior vice president of retail sales and marketing. By 2011 he was promoted to senior vice president of sales and supply chain, where he was responsible for driving sales in the foodservice, international, and wholesale and industrial channels in addition to leading the supply, demand, customer service, logistics and transportation functions at the company.

Evans holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and marketing from Georgia State Univ., and he has completed advanced business studies at the Wharton and Darden business schools.
