The Bacon Gouda Cheeseburger features a sauce mix of gruyere and gouda cheeses.

DUBLIN, Ohio – Wendy’s is betting its latest premium burger won’t be an underdog against the competition.

The Bacon Gouda Cheeseburger features garlic aioli; Gouda and Swiss Gruyere cheese sauce; three strips of Applewood smoked bacon; red onions, tomato and spring mix served on a toasted brioche bun. The same cheese sauce is used on Wendy’s new fry offering, Bacon Fondue Fries. The sauce is drizzled over natural-cut fries seasoned with sea salt and topped with bacon.

To support the menu items, Wendy’s enlisted former NFL players Terrell Owens and Vince Young to star in new TV ads and a digital video series. The marketing campaign, which takes the form of a parody, launches Nov. 30.
