CRAIGAVON, Northern Ireland – Poultry processor Moy Park, a subsidiary of São Paulo-based JBS SA, plans to spend £4 million ($8,828,000) toward upgrades at its facilities in Craigavon.

The company said it will focus on positioning its ready-to-eat cooked chicken production for further innovation and growth. Upgrades to the facility will include installation of advanced continuous in-line cooking and chilling technologies. The company said the upgrades also will provide energy and process efficiencies.

“Moy Park is committed to growing the business through investment in both our industry leading farming and operational facilities,” Keith Irvine, Moy Park’s supply chain director, said in a news release.  “This investment further cements the company’s position as one of the most advanced producers of ready-to-eat products in the UK and Europe as it enhances our ability to satisfy consumer demand for increasingly innovative, healthy, convenient and tasty products.”
