OAK BROOK, Ill. – McDonald’s Corp. added more items to its McPick 2 value menu along with a price increase to $5.
The refreshed McPick 2 menu includes 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Filet-O-Fish, the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder. McPick 2 allows customers to choose two items for $5. McPick 2 promotion began as a 2-for $2 value deal where customers could choose two items — from a McDouble, a McChicken, small fries and mozzarella sticks — for $2.
McDonald’s said in November 2015 that details of the deal could change, but that the company would keep the McPick concept and name.
McDonald’s and other quick-service restaurants launched value meals early in 2016. McDonald’s launched to McPick 2 after The Wendy’s Company announced its 4 for $4 deal. Burger King now offers a 5 for $4 deal featuring a bacon cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, small fries, small drink and a chocolate chip cookie, for $4. Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants entered the value meal melee with the $4 Real Deal — a double cheeseburger and spicy chicken sandwich, both served with fries and a drink. And Pizza Hut became the first pizza chain with its $5 Flavor Menu featuring a selection of items and four 20-oz. Pepsi beverages for $5 each when ordering two or more.
