OMAHA — David Biegger has been named executive vice president and chief supply chain officer of ConAgra Foods, Inc., effective Oct. 5. Prior to joining the company, Biegger was responsible for the global supply chain at Campbell Soup Co., where he oversaw manufacturing, quality safety, engineering, procurement, logistics, environmental sustainability and customer service. Previously, he served in supply chain roles at Procter & Gamble Co. for 24 years.

“We are pleased to welcome Dave to ConAgra,” said Sean Connolly, CEO of ConAgra. “He has a wealth of relevant experience and will be a terrific leader of our talented supply chain team.

“We are committed to building stronger brands, enhancing margins and delivering more consistent results. Against this backdrop, Dave and his team will continue to enhance our supply chain capabilities to give us a competitive advantage.”

In his new role at ConAgra, Biegger will have end-to-end responsibilities for the company’s Consumer Foods business, including the manufacturing, procurement, environment, health and safety, plant quality, consumer logistics and planning and transportation and warehouse teams.

“ConAgra has a strong portfolio of brands whose success will be driven in part by a lean, entrepreneurial culture,” Biegger said. “I’m pleased to join Sean and the senior leadership team and am even more excited to have the opportunity to contribute to ConAgra’s continued growth and success.”

In August, another Campbell veteran joined the executive team at ConAgra. Darren Serrao was named to the newly created position of chief growth officer. The shuffle in leadership comes at a time of transition for ConAgra. During the company’s annual shareholders meeting on Sept. 25, Connolly cautioned of changes ahead, including job reductions and a possible move of headquarters.
