DANBURY, Conn. – Praxair Inc. announced that it has contributed, along with other exhibitors, to the Defeat Hunger Campaign in conjunction with the Greater Chicago Food Depository at this year’s PROCESS EXPO at Chicago’s McCormick Place, Sept. 15-18.

The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) is conducting the Defeat Hunger campaign in conjunction with the 2015 PROCESS EXPO show. The Defeat Hunger campaign is just one of FPSA’s “Giving Back” initiatives.

“Praxair is honored to participate in this worthy cause,” said Lisa Esneault, Praxair vice president of global communications and public relations. “The Praxair Global Giving initiative is perfectly matched to support community efforts like this one from the Food Processing Suppliers Association. When our exhibit team presented the opportunity we were immediately on-board.”

“Once again FPSA, its Foundation and its members are committed to giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the lives of people in need. We look forward to the creative ideas and contributions that PROCESS EXPO exhibitors and partners will make in support of this campaign and help us to reach our goals,” said David Seckman, President and CEO of FPSA.

The campaign was kicked off in early April and will run through the last day of PROCESS EXPO, on Sept. 18. The 2015 campaign was launched with a $75,000 donation by the FPSA Foundation, and will include a variety of partners such as FPSA members, local food processors, PROCESS EXPO exhibitors and the Greater Chicago Food Depository with the goal of addressing food insecurity in Greater Cook County.

“The program in 2013 ultimately raised enough donations to provide over 240,000 meals to the people of Cook County,” said Scott Scriven, chairman of the FPSA Foundation. “Our goal this year is to surpass 300,000 meals and to continue raising awareness of this critical issue in our own backyard. Given the interest shown by our many partners in this initiative, we feel that this goal is well within reach.”
