EMPORIA, Kan. – H.J. Baker, a leading supplier of encapsulated amino acids for feed, announced plans to expand its Animal Health and Nutrition division with the construction of a new multimillion-dollar facility in Emporia, Kan.

The facility will cover 13,000 sq. ft. and will feature offices, a warehouse and processing floor with state-of-the-art equipment. Production at the 15-acre site is scheduled to begin as early as March 2016, the company said.


“The new facility will allow H.J. Baker to create new local jobs as well as a strong opportunity for us to continue innovating within our industry,” H.J. Baker president and CEO Christopher Smith said.

Baker has been expanding globally in recent years, and it’s a pleasure to continue that expansion inside the United States adding skilled American Jobs,” Smith added. “The encapsulated amino acid market is growing nationally and globally and with our new Emporia facility we anticipate being able to cater to that growth.”

H.J. Baker specializes in amino acid feed ingredients. The company’s METABOLYS and METABOMET products increase dairy cows’ milk volumes and produce richer milk components.
