KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Georgia Gov. Nathan Neal announced on June 25 plans for a $9 million expansion by National Beef Packing Company LLC, at its Moultrie case-ready processing plant. An estimated 200 jobs will be added at the plant, where approximately 220 workers are currently employed.

“The growth of food processing in Georgia outpaces the national average,” said Deal, who toured the plant after attending a ceremony announcing the expansion. “Our state offers the right resources, including a diverse cluster of companies and an interconnected logistics framework, necessary to help National Beef better reach its growing market in the region.”

According to news reports, the company received approximately $875,000 in state and local incentives for the project.

“We are excited about the decision to invest in the expansion of our Moultrie facility,” said Kareem Kelly, general manager of the facility. “The company’s investment of approximately $9 million is an exciting step in the continued growth of our consumer-ready business.”
