AUSTIN, Minn. – Hormel Foods Corporation promoted Jeffrey Tobak to president of Dan's Prize Inc. from foodservice area manager at the company’s Chicago sales office. He succeeds Mark Morey who recently was named president of Farmer John in Vernon, Calif.

Tobak joined Hormel Foods in 2002 as a foodservice sales representative at the company’s Pittsburgh, Pa., sales office. The same year he became a territory manager in Charleston, W. Va. He returned to Pittsburgh in the same role.


He became the foodservice chain accounts marketing manager at Hormel’s corporate office in Austin. Tobak then served as foodservice area manager at the San Francisco sales office in 2007 and Memphis in 2010. He became foodservice area manager at the Chicago sales office.

“Congratulations to Jeff on his advancement and we look forward to his leadership with the Dan’s Prize business,” said Mark Coffey, vice president of affiliated business units, Refrigerated Foods.

Dan’s Prize was founded in Long Prairie, Minn., in 1986. The company’s product portfolio includes high-quality sliced and whole muscle products such as beef, pastrami, ham, turkey and other items.
