HOMEWOOD, Ill. – Carl Buddig & Co. is building on its Old Wisconsin line of meat snacks with the introduction of Fast Fuel Sausage Sticks and Bites.

The company said the 0.5 oz. Fast Fuel meat snacks exceed the “Smart Snacks in School” nutrition standards for protein. The sticks and bites are 40 calories or less, low in fat, sugar and sodium and provide 4 grams of protein.

The Fast Fuel line also is an opportunity for Carl Buddig & Co. to capture market share in the fast-growing meat snack segment. Citing research from Innova Market Insights, the company noted that global launches of meat snacks grew at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 30 percent over the past five years. A key growth driver is consumer demand for protein-packed meat snacks as a snack alternative to sweet or salty products.

“The meat snack category is booming and this new product launch fills an important need for protein-packed snacks,” said Jeff Weber, national brand manager. “We’ve also stayed true to our old-fashioned, hand-crafted, real hardwood-smoked taste so our Fast Fuel snacks are flavorful and satisfying for anyone looking for a snack on-the-go.”

The Fast Fuels Sausage Sticks and Bites line includes:

• Honey Brown Sugar Turkey Sausage Snack Bites: 3.5 oz.
