KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Guacamole is now more than just a chip dip or burrito add-on — it’s the centerpiece of new menu items nationwide.
Guacamole is the star of Dunkin’ Donuts’ new breakfast option: the Bacon Guacamole Flatbread Sandwich. It features two strips of bacon, egg, a slice of reduced fat cheddar cheese and guacamole made with Hass avocados, cilantro and lime juice.
Subway added the Chipotle Chicken Melt with Guacamole sub to its menu, featuring grilled chicken strips, guacamole, Monterey Cheddar cheese, Chipotle Southwestern Sauce and the customer’s choice of vegetables all served on toasted Italian bread. Customers may also add the guacamole, made with Haas avocados, jalapeño peppers, onion, garlic, salt and vinegar to any sub of their choice.
