PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. – The "Queen of Southern Cuisine" is holding court at The Island in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Paula Deen's Family Kitchen will open April 27 serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Along with a 300-seat restaurant is The Paula Deen Store. The 4,000-sq.-ft. space features a replica of Deen's home kitchen which will serve as a special event space for sampling and personal appearances.

“Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen is filled with love and mouthwatering flavors,” Deen said. “I can hardly wait to bring some of my favorite Southern dishes from my Savannah restaurant, The Lady & Sons, to the Great Smoky Mountains. We are going to serve our meals family style, with big ol’ bowls on the table, heaping full of fried chicken, collards, fried okra, corn and sweet potatoes. Plus, it’s a bonus to be Dollywood’s neighbor!”

Pigeon Forge is known as the gateway community for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and home to country music star Dolly Parton's Dollywood theme park. Deen’s restaurant joins other hospitality and retail ventures connected to famous names — Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Hotel — and more than 60 other shops and attractions.
