WASHINGTON – A pork tamale product was left off a list of recalled items produced by Corn Maiden Foods, Harbor City, Calif.

On April 11, Corn Maiden announced a recall of 15,600 lbs. of beef and pork products that contained undeclared hydrolyzed soy protein, a known allergen. But a product was left off the list, the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the US Department of Agriculture reported.

The recall now includes:

• 20.625 lb. cases containing 60 5.5 oz. pieces of “Tamales with Pork Carnitas, Green Chile & Oregano Wrapped in Corn Husks.”

  9.375 lb. cases containing 60 2.5 oz. pieces of “Tamales with Pork Carnitas, Green Chile & Oregano Wrapped in Corn Husks.”

FSIS said the products subject to the recall bear the establishment number “EST. 20949” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The tamales were shipped to hotels, restaurants and institutional locations in California, according to the agency.
