ATLANTA – Arby's Restaurant Group Inc. named John Bowie the company's next COO. He succeeds George Condos who is retiring. Bowie's promotion is effective March 30 while Condos will act in a consultant role on through the end of the year.

Bowie brings 20 years of experience to the job. His previous roles include president of US operations for Church's Chicken and senior operations and marketing roles with Friendly's Ice Cream Corp. and Wendy's International Inc. He joined ARG in 2013. Before his promotion, Bowie served as senior vice president of operations at Arby's.


"John is taking the reins of an operations team that has been set up for continued success, said Paul Brown, CEO. As the leader of our operations in the East Region, John already has a very strong track record of success. I'm looking forward to working more closely with him in his new leadership role."
Bowie attended Univ. of Notre Dame and earned an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke Univ.
